Friday's 2011 First Citizens Cup Final at the Hasely Crawford Stadium between T&TEC FC and Caledonia AIA kicks off at 6:30pm, however the 'Electric Boys' are forecasting sunshine.
And they're not referring to the yellow of the sun.
Head Coach Dexter Cyrus is expecting strong support at the Port of Spain venue.
“Not just the football team, but the entire T&TEC family is excited. We’ve printed over four hundred and fifty polo t-shirts and in just one week they were sold out. So we are expecting a huge turnout,” said the T&TEC coach.
T&TEC, just four matches into its debut season at the Pro League level are into a Final and more so unbeaten.
The Dexter Cyrus coached side kicked off its Digicel Pro League Championship campaign with a 2-1 comeback victory over DIRECTV North East Stars in Round One Match Day One at the Marvin Lee Stadium.
T&TEC followed up with a goalless draw against St. Ann’s Rangers in the round robin quarterfinal stage of the First Citizens Cup then a 4-4 draw against Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh to finish Group A with 2 points, enough to advance into the semi-final round.
The ‘Electric Boys’ then shocked six-time winners W Connection with a 4-3 penalty win following a 1-1 regulation time draw.
All this time T&TEC have been well-supported by its loyal fans and on Friday expects yellow support at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
