Moses gets T&T call-up for Canada friendly
The unavailability of Philadelphia Union defender Sheanon Williams has led to the call up of North East Stars' Kareem Moses for next Wednesday's friendly international against Canada at the Central Broward Regional Complex, Fort Lauderdale.
Moses, a former Joe Public and St. Ann's Rangers player, is also a member of the T&T U23s.
The T&T team will assemble there on Monday and will have three three training sessions under interim head coach Hutson Charles.
The overseas-based players including, Lester Peltier, Khaleem Hyland, Darryl Roberts, Keon Daniel, Carlyle Mitchell, Hughtun Hector and Kevin Molino will join the team on Monday while Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones is unavailable for the encounter.
The home-based pros in the squad include Moses, Clyde Leon, Devorn Jorsling, Seon Power, Richard Roy, Rodell Elcock, Daneil Cyrus, Joevin Jones, Jan-Michael Williams, Cleon John and Curtis Gonzales.
Molino, coming off another League title success with Orlando City says he's eagerly looking forward to the encounter. Molino played against Canada at an Under 17 World Cup qualifier in 2007 but has never faced them at the senior level.
"I've never faced them before at the senior level so I'm anxious to play this first game. I know it's going to be tough game because they have been together for a while and they are preparing for the rest of their 2014 qualifying games," Molino told TTFF Media.
"But we also have to get serious for this game because we are regrouping and we know it's very important to do well in the Digicel Cup and make it through to the Gold Cup next year.
I think the squad we have for this game is a pretty decent one, We have some good experiences pros in the line up and we've played a few matches together already.
Hopefully we can treat the fans in Fort Lauderdale to some good football and come away with a victory on Wednesday," Molino added.
