Roy fired-up for Digicel Pro Bowl title

Roy fired-up for Digicel Pro Bowl title“It’s two Finals we lost to the same team(Caledonia AIA this season), so now we won’t make it three,” promised Defence Force striker Richard Roy during a training session at the Haig Street Recreation Ground, Carenarge on Wednesday morning.

The Tetron based boys against Morvant/Laventille club Caledonia from 8pm on Thursday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in the Final of the Digicel Pro Bowl which is the final tournament on the TT Pro League calendar.

Defence Force, defeated 1-0 in the FA Trophy and 3-1 in the Lucozade Sport Goal Shield Finals against Caledonia, now looks at pulling one against the Jamaal Shabazz coached side.

“I am confident of winning the Final on Thursday,” continued Roy who finished top scorer in the Digicel Pro League with 14 goals and also picked up the Most Goals in the Goal Shield.

“I’m having a good season and my aim is to score goals and make sure we get a victory [on Thursday],” he added confidently.

Javon Neptune, team captain in absence of regular Corey Rivers said, “We won’t be doing anything different. We are just really strengthening on our weaknesses, and at present we are confident in a victory.”

Rivers remains sideline with a groin injury while Kevon Carter, Sean Narcis, Sterling O’Brian, Christopher Durity, Ronald St. Louis, Rawle Fletcher and Dexter Pacheco are all on a Defence Force promotional course which also saw them miss the Goal Shield tournament last month.
