T&T trashed by Panama

T&T trashed by PanamaTrinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior Football team slumped to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat on Tuesday night at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium against home team Panama.

The Warriors coming off a 3-1 home defeat against Jamaica last month conceded on either side of the half against Panama looking ahead to next year’s Central American Championship.

T&T starting goalie Jan Michael Williams of W Connection cleaned up an error with a penalty save in the ninth minute after he brought Edwin Aguilar down inside the box after the striker beat the offside trap.

But Williams couldn’t save the Warriors in the 14th minute when Edwin Aguilar scored the opener for the home side.

That 1-0 score stood until deep inside the second period when substitute forward Luis Tejada made it 2-0 in the 75th minute.

T&T struggled to pick themselves up with their best second period opening headed over by Jason Marcano from a Joevin Jones cross.

Panama then sealed the comfortable result 3-0 in the 87th minute through Gabriel Gomez against the visitors.

The Warriors will not return home as they travel to Belize to face the 180th ranked nation on Friday.
